Playing old school big band music with a fresh kick!
It’s the big band music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Billie Holiday meets Australia’s hottest jazz prodigies in a swinging, big brass concert for WA schools.
Precociously talented and delightfully down-to-earth, New York-based Perth trumpeter Mat Jodrell and Melbourne vocalist Michelle Nicolle will stir things up at Perth’s brand new State Theatre Centre.
This concert has been created especially for school students, to give them a taste of first class jazz music. Performing the big brassy songs from 50s and 60s jazz, this multi award winning duo, together with Australia’s most talented emerging jazz players in WAYJO, will highlight the kind of jazz talent that this country can produce.
Proudly presented by Act-Belong-Commit.
